The Scotch-Brite™ XT Pro Heavy Duty Cleaning Disc is made of silicon carbide integrated into an open nylon fibre construction. Our discs effectively remove rust, paint, scale, coatings and adhesives from surfaces without significantly altering the base material.
Benefit from the improved adaptability and consistent strength of the Scotch-Brite™ XT Pro Heavy Duty Cleaning Disc when pre-treating metal surfaces or removing rust and paint. The disc features a combination of newly developed fibre bundles, synthetic resin and silicon carbide abrasives, which together form a thick, open fleece. The springy nature of the fibres allows the disc to conform more closely to the contours of the workpiece. This increases the contact area and removal rate. It adapts to weld beads to polish weld seams without removing them. It also allows you to reach hard-to-reach areas without damaging the surface. Thanks to its high removal rate, silicon carbide ensures excellent surface quality. Unwanted burrs, dirt and contaminants are effectively removed without changing the shape of the workpiece. This in turn reduces reworking and increases productivity. Gaps in the fleece also allow grinding debris to be removed, minimising clogging of the abrasive. The strengthening synthetic resin bond gradually breaks down during operation to expose new fibre bundles and new super-sharp silicon carbide abrasive. This ensures a constant removal rate throughout the entire service life. The high-strength fibres counteract tearing and deliver excellent results even on edges. The disc is also characterised by low vibration and sparking, high rotational speeds and a long service life.
