Bullone di ancoraggio

A bolt anchor is a mechanical anchorage specially designed for heavy loads in cracked and non-cracked concrete. Wedge anchors are made of steel, which makes them very robust and corrosion-resistant. They are particularly suitable for fixing balcony railings to concrete. The bolt anchor can be used when bolting to ceilings, walls and floors.

You will need a few tools to fix stud anchors, including a drill, a hoover, a hammer and a torque spanner. Once a bolt anchor has been anchored, it cannot be easily removed. This speaks in favour of the bolt anchor and shows that this bolting technique is very reliable and durable.

How does the bolt anchor work?

First, drill a hole the size of the bolt anchor into the concrete wall. This should be about one centimetre longer than the bolt anchor. Then clean the hole with a hoover or a compressed air gun to ensure that the bolt anchor adheres properly. The object to be attached can now be positioned with the bolt anchor. The next step is to carefully drive the bolt anchor into the hole using a hammer. Finally, tighten the nut of the bolt anchor with a torque spanner so that the metal ring at the end of the bolt anchor expands. This anchors the bolt anchor firmly in the concrete wall.

How do you remove a bolt anchor?

In principle, it is not intended that a bolt anchor will ever need to be unscrewed again. It is possible, but you need a lot of patience, skill and a little strength. You first loosen the nut and jiggle the bolt anchor until it has enough play in the hole that you can carefully pull it out. However, you must be very careful when doing this, because if you pull it out incorrectly or too early, a whole piece of concrete wall can be torn out. Bolt anchors are also available with barbs, which make them even more difficult to remove.

What is the difference between a bolt anchor and a heavy-duty anchor?

The main difference between a bolt anchor and a heavy-duty anchor is that the heavy-duty anchor has no malleable plastic parts, but one made of metal. This has the advantage that you can tighten the heavy-duty anchor with a greater torque than would be the case with a bolt anchor.

Why do you need a cap nut?

Cap nuts have both a securing and aesthetic function. To reduce the risk of injury to the bolt anchor, screw a cap nut onto the head of the bolt. The cap nut also has an aesthetic function, as the screw connection looks nicer, especially if the bolt is clearly visible.

What is a backfill disc?

Backfill discs are used in combination with anchor bolts to subsequently fill the annular gap between the anchor plate and the steel anchor. There is an opening in the ring into which you inject the injection mortar for filling. This then fills the annular gap between the anchor plate and the steel anchor, ensuring a secure hold.
