Reliable anchoring at dizzying heights

fischer fastening systems prove their worth on the Gotthard Massif

In July 2023, experts carried out renovation work on a climbing garden in the Gotthard Massif and also opened up five new routes. Ensuring safety in alpine areas is essential when setting up climbing routes, and top-quality products are indispensable.

They used our fischer heavy-duty anchors for this purpose

  • Type of installation: Fastening in nature
  • Scope: Renovation of 20 climbing routes
  • Number of installed hooks: around 450 safety hooks

When installing the climbing hooks, holes had to be drilled in hard granite. It was important to clean the holes thoroughly to ensure that the chemical and mechanical anchors installed would achieve their guaranteed load-bearing capacities. For anchoring, the climbers injected the fischer injection mortar FIS V Plus 300 T into the drill holes using the corresponding fischer dispensing tool, inserted the hooks, and smoothed out the extruded mortar. After curing, the composite system is fully load-bearing and provides consistently high load capacities.

In addition to glue-in bolts, so-called climbing bolts were also installed in the rock walls. The fischer bolt anchors FAZ II made of stainless steel (R) in size 10x80 mm were used here. With these mechanical anchors, the climbers securely and firmly anchored the 10 mm bolt hangers in the rock walls. The anchor can be installed either by pre-positioning or push-through mounting. Once the specified torque is reached, the anchor is securely seated and can be loaded immediately. The FAZ II bolt anchor ensures reliable transmission of very high forces.
