Thanks to the redesigned 3M precision-shaped grain, which now has curved sides, it offers longer service life and higher removal rates than any other shaped grain and any other conventional aluminium oxide or zirconia flap disc. The powerful 3M™ Cubitron™ 3 Flap Disc 1169F is age-resistant, versatile and offers all the advantages you would expect from a flap disc, such as adaptability, ease of use and a lower risk of jointing. The 3M™ Cubitron™ 3 Flap Disc 1169F features 3M precision-shaped grain (now redesigned with curved sides) and a durable polyester backing. On structural steel, it removes up to 49% more material than the 3M™ Cubitron™ II flap disc 969F 40+ and up to 66% more than the 3M™ flap disc 769F 40+. It is designed for medium to high pressure applications such as chamfering, weld grinding, deburring and working on edges and contours. It also ensures surface quality, making it the first choice for tasks such as blending or surface preparation. The 3M™ Cubitron™ 3 flap disc 1169F features our new patented 3M precision-shaped grain, which has now been redesigned to have curved sides. This continuously breaks into sharp-edged structures that cut cleanly through the metal instead of ploughing through the surface like conventional abrasives. This breakage gives our 3M™ Cubitron™ 3 flap disc 1169F an extremely long service life and maintains a high removal rate throughout its entire lifetime.

Expert tip: In many cases, you can grind or finish in a single step with the 3M™ Cubitron™ 3 flap disc 1169F without having to change the abrasive. This is because, under normal conditions, the 1169F produces a finish that is one grade finer than a fibre disc of the same grit size. Although the fibre disc grinds faster, this flap disc eliminates the need for multiple steps and disc changes, saving you time.
