Advantage:
"Cost-effective and economical connections in thin sheet metal with extremely high durability and safety!"High breakaway torques and vibration resistance
Process cost savings due to the elimination of the punching step (drilling, punching, etc.)No hole offset due to production of the screw-in hole during the screwing process
No chip formation"

Application Area:
With the increasing trend towards lightweight sheet steel construction, the requirements for the fasteners used there are also changing.
Conventional self-tapping screws are not suitable for lightweight sheet steel construction due to their limited force transmission and lack of resistance to loosening. Joining with non-detachable elements, e.g. rivets, is often not possible or desired.
In order to fulfil the special requirements in terms of economy, durability of the connection and possible disassembly, Schriever has developed and patented the self-forming Schriever SBS® especially for thin sheet steel; depending on the screw dimensions for up to approx. 1.5 mm thickness. Thanks to its special thread geometry, this screw is able to form a threaded hole from the material it displaces and screw itself into the thin sheet without chipping. This eliminates the need for backings, clips or nuts to secure the connection.
Application Notes:
Sheet thickness to be penetrated: 0.2 x d
