The newly developed measuring device uses a tactile sensor that can be inserted into narrow gaps of less than 0.5 mm. It therefore replaces feeler gauges and thickness gauges in a wide range of applications where users were previously only able to carry out qualitative inspections and had to determine quantitative measured values through a time-consuming process of trial and error.

The gapMaster® offers significant advantages over capacitive and optical gap measurement methods. Firstly, its measuring probe can also be inserted into very deep gaps that are visually inaccessible. Secondly, its tactile measurement with very low measuring forces means it is not dependent on the material of the test specimen. These features make the gapMaster® a superior gap measuring device in many fields of application.

The mobile, highly user-friendly device displays all the information required for the measurement process and its analysis on its 7-inch screen. Inspection plans can be loaded, and measurement data can be temporarily stored and transmitted to a central office via WLAN.

For measurements on fans and turbines, the gapMaster® offers special sensors that can quickly and accurately measure gaps between the rotor and housing with a repeatability of up to 0.01 mm. In the automotive sector, too, the replaceable gap sensor is designed differently depending on the application, meaning every measurement task can be optimally solved.
